Be like the children

Do you remember during your childhood when you welcomed each new experience with exuberance? It was a time of wonderment and an unfolding of opportunities. I remember when my Daughter was five and taking her to a school fair in preparation for Kindergarten. Another young girl ran up to her immediately and said "Let's be friends!" They hugged. "Let's go play!" And off they went to the playground. It was simple, no complications. They just fully embraced each other. Another poignant moment was after the funeral of my Daughters' Father, who passed away unexpectedly. When we walked into the reception following the ceremony, all of the children immediately circled and enveloped my two girls with this incredible love and enormous group hug. My girls literally disappeared in the middle of these young angel wings.

There was a beautiful spirituality and simplicity in that moment of teaching the adults in the room what was needed. Love. Pure and simple. I am convinced if we were more like the children, our world would be a better place.
